Others have had to log in, as well.

I hate (parts of) the internet.

Ddos protection or "too much traffic" from DU triggered something.

Providers want tons of traffic and they don't.

Go figure.

Smartness almost always means outsmarting myself.

I ran computer networks and ran into just about every problem imaginable, and some that were unimaginable.

People would ask me to troubleshoot and fix problems with the internet. Almost always it was some transient problem hundreds of miles away that techs were scrambling to fix.

So I looked busy, and the problem was fixed in a short while. My own equipment was easy to check in about a minute.

Retired. Enjoying piano and photography, and chiming in on DU when I feel either helpful, motivated, or in a devilish mood.

Computers are our friend, except when designed and managed by sociopaths. Unfortunately, they are.

Holy crap what a pain in the ass that was. Nobody in the hospital wanted to learn how to look up the images and would call at all hours of the nite so I could "flip a switch or something" to make it work. Sometimes it was the vendors fault and sometimes it was operator error.
Like you said I would look busy and it would fix it self or I would pass it up the chain. Of course the doctors would not admit they screwed up.. MD = Massive Denial...
I'm glad I don't do that work any more.

I may have to run to the store later on and buy the single serving size!
