My fiance made taco spaghetti yesterday

Unfortunately, I have no recipe for you. She heard about it, watched a video or two, and then just threw together whatever ingredients made sense to her.

Fortunately, many here can probably do the same thing. As a bonus, if you do, you can actually keep track of your ingredients and post your recipe here... you will then be on the receiving end of 100 recs! Or maybe ten. Five at a bare minimum. I promise to recommend your recipe, so that's at least one.

Or, if you're not the creative type, you can just google "taco spaghetti" and choose a recipe that sounds good to you.

At any rate, this was the first time I've had it and it was pretty good!

A fusion of Mexican and Italian. Sounds great. Lucky You.

Keep her.

A bit of advice from someone who has been happily married for almost 50 years, always say Yes Dear as if you mean it. And don’t forget your anniversary. And always put down the toilet seat regardless of how many bathrooms you have.

The decor is split down the middle.

They have Italian, Mexican, and a few Italian-Mexican fusion dishes on the menu.

I spent several years living within an hours drive of New Orleans. And got culinarily spoiled. That combination is worth pursuing. Thx for that info.

or there was pre-pandemic. Arrancini make a great lead-in to huachinango a la veracruzan. IIRC, the restaurant was run by a couple, one of whom was from Italy and one from Mexico.

I'll have to look this up.

It's not entirely nationwide but it's pretty widespread, we have it here in DC; it's the reference standard for Cincy-style chili. A big "four-way" plate (spaghetti, chili, shredded Cheddar, and diced raw onion) is an epic slice of Americana.

Spaghetti with chili on top, shredded Monterey Jack cheese and a bunch of chopped lettuce, tomato, green pepper, onion and black olives. It's a great leftover.

tacos are tacos: corn tortillas with a small amount of stuffing eaten as a snack or small meal. Just because one uses similar spices to make a sauce for pasta does not make it a taco anything. Would you pour ragu over tortillas and call it spaghetti pie?

Why not call it spaghetti a la Mexico or something similar?
