Lakeside picnic today

My retired nephew and his wife are travelling the country and are camping at a lake about an hour away. They are living the dream And worked for every bit of their current leisure.

I made some garlic/cream cheese pinwheels. Some are vegetarian, some have shrimp.

I made a sweet, low-carb cream cheese dip, to serve with lemon cookies and graham crackers.

Looking forward to having a (I hope) quiet day of sun and water

Hope it's one of those idyllic summer days -- sunny, low 80's, cool breeze coming off the lake, etc. Blue Owl Aug 2023 #7

And your homemade treats will add to the perfection! Enjoy!

I hope the rain holds off. We had a real downpour here yesterday and they say there’s more storms on the way today.

to have an auntie like you, who cooks so well.

Your choices sound like fun food and will be quite welcome, I'm sure.

regarding thunderstorms and rain, we weren't supposed to get any until 3 p.m. but at 10:30, while working in one of my school gardens, it started pouring.

Surrounded by exceptional cooks and bakers. Thank you for the pat on the back. They treated us to dinner 2 times. I got them a bottle of 1000 Stories bourbon barrel aged wine to thank them. The local liquor store has an amazing variety of wines. I have no idea what is good, but it was fun looking.

Stay dry!

I forgot my nephew had rented a pontoon boat. We all got to go out on the water after we ate. Several people swam. We left about 7 and drove thru one of the worst thunderstorms ever. About 5 minutes from Marietta, all of our phones were alerting on a tornado warning. So I'm in the basement at my daughter's, waiting for a break to get home. What a day!

It seems we all liked the pinwheels, none left lol

She wanted me to stay for the night, but I hadn't brought my evening meds. Then she wanted to follow me home, and I said I'd be okay. But she had me call her and stay on the phone till I got to my place. So thoughtful
