Made my squash-apple soup (recipe Martha Stewart). It is spicy. Has a bit of sour cream and toasted pepitas on top.
Tossed green salad with homemade olive oil/lemon/garlic/dijon mustard vinaigrette.
Kombucha: tart cherry mixed with strawberry rhubarb Culture Pop.
Dessert: fresh raspberries and no-sugar vanilla ice cream. Decaf.

(18,086 posts)I found a bag in our freezer that I had totally forgotten. It was labeled cooked meat and veg for Jambalaya. My guess that I cooked too much and the pot was too full the last time I made it.
There is no seafood in it, just chicken and andouille, that is why I said "sort of."
It just started simmering bit already the aroma is great.

We started w/ a salad (romaine, carrots, bell pepper, celery, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and chunks of cheddar cheese) with buttermilk ranch dressing
No dessert planned.
Dad had ham steak, home fries, mashed turnip and peas.

(22,849 posts)It's been a chilly and raw day in the Catskills. As we knew we would work outdoors all afternoon, we decided this morning to make some comfort food for dinner.
Four big meaty beef ribs went into the crockpot at 1:00 pm. They were seasoned with rosemary, thyme, garlic, a dollop of bacon grease, red wine, onions, salt & pepper.
Meanwhile, we got a butternut squash and made French fries out of half of it. The fries were coated with olive oil and salt then cooked in our oven's air fryer at 400 degrees for just under an hour. The fries needed to be turned a few times. They were perfect!
The meat 'n' taters were complimented with Le Sueur peas.
Dessert is a movie musical, Klondike bars and a snifter of brandy.
