I baked a strawberry pound cake yesterday

It calls for a strawberry puree which can be made with fresh or frozen berries. I used fresh. The pan I used is a smaller Bundt style, so I baked the extra in a small dish for the two of us. It is a very tasty cake.

I must have missed a spot when I greased the pan because a chunk came out. Since it is not for an auction winner or anything I let that go. It is for the nice man who is cleaning up our yard. He has been pretty much going over the top and I promised him a cake, and strawberry is his favorite. We are also paying him more than he asked for.

This was an adventure since I have not baked a new recipe in a long time

Since we're blizzarded-in, I can maybe make something for the sweet man who does our stairs and deck shoveling.

So many of us who have kitchen skills often forget that not everyone has them and can enjoy homecooked food, which is the preferred, according to Michael Pollen.

Your story reminds me a bit of my kitchen renovator, who was a vegetarian. I noticed he would go out to Burger King for lunch and order a hamburger without the burger. In other words, he was having a roll, lettuce, tomato and onion for a sandwich.

I was appalled that he thought this was vegetarian food, so I said I'm gonna' show you some good vegetarian food!

I fixed him my fave eggplant sandwich with breaded eggplant, roasted chipotle pepper with adobo sauce, and mozzarella. Onion roll. I made other items, too, to expand his horizons.

One small problem was that as the job wound down, he would find some reason to stop by at lunch time. He would fix one little item and then have lunch. But that was OK, he'd done a good job.

Anyway, I am pureeing fruit a lot these days myself for my kombucha flavors. Isn't it fun!! I love the aromas of strawberry especially.

I am known as the 'Cookie Lady' around here. I make extra large cookies of special flavor combinations I have found work.
Your strawberry pound cake sounds wonderful!
