Made it last night, did a brown sugar-based glaze on top and the little bit of sweetness is so good. Green beans and tomatoes for the veg. Spent at least 10 minutes searching the house for my loaf pan, even checked the storage bins in the attic… then finally remembered I threw it away like 5 years ago because it was beginning to rust.

Used a medium-sized enameled cast iron pot and it worked fine for the ‘loaf. It’s just more of a round meatmound than a true loaf, lol!

That broccoli rabe dish looks delicious!

92 year old farmer one mile down the road died Monday. Wife cooked a ham with brown sugar glaze and pineapple, seven layers desert treat and fruit salad to take to their house. She left some ham and seven layers for us to eat dinner. The farmers wife and daughter were sitting out on the porch when we got there. They couldn't thank us enough and went on and on about how wonderful neighbors we have been. We been here since 1978 and the daughter just graduated from highschool the summer we moved here. The daughter told us she just retired from teaching. Damn, we are getting so old.

My wife thinks your broccoli rabe dish looks delicious 😋.

No, I'm not making the meatballs, they're frozen. But it'll be good anyway.

We got a new sink installed yesterday, a big farmhouse stainless steel sink with a new pull-down faucet. The things you can be over the moon about at our age!

Sushi grade tuna and boiled jumbo shrimp with soy sauce, wasabi and cocktail sauce. Simple salad of Romaine, red onion and cherry tomatoes.

The tuna was fresh and came into the fish store this morning. Delicious.

Chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

We’re anchored in the Great Salt Pond on Block Island until Friday. The forecast for tomorrow threatens thunderstorms so we’ll wait till Friday to head north to Jamestown, RI. There is amazing fresh seafood here!

Thankfully, we have plenty of food and water aboard. Plus, we’re anchored securely.

Stay safe, dear elleng!

Had a cup of tomato basil soup with croutons and Parmesan cheese topping. Potato salad and a pressed Cuban sammie. Mmmmmm
