Share your best Basil recipes!

My plant is out of control and I’ve already made enough pesto to last the rest of the year.
Have been using the leaves on pizza, bread, pasta sauces…

I’d love some delicious chicken and fish recipes to try!
Hit me with your best ones!

Olive oil, Egg yolks and a little vinegar and lemon juice … I soaked the dried basil in the vinegar and lemon juice before making the mayonnaise.

or tiny jars (pimento or baby food size). Freeze for winter.

My favorite summer recipe is caprese salad. I can never get enough. There are many variations, but I just make this basic one. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/16526/insalata-caprese-ii/

I dry the leaves in the microwave on a paper plate w/damp paper towel on top in 30 second increments until they've dried up and you can crumble with your fingers. Then add dried basil to a spice jar.

Tomato soup (from roasted plum tomatoes) with several cups of basil is a good use if you haven't tried.

I add to salads or make an herb salad dressing, or basil infused EVOO to get rid of, too, sometimes.

Yes, my plant is out of control now as well. Good luck

Oh, and Thai basil chicken stir fry is a favorite of mine...even with regular basil.

Soupe au Pistou, as many recipes as there are cooks, find one that appeals to you. Mine is a tomato based veggie soup, big blob of pesto in the bottom of the bowl.

Pesto pizza: spread pizza dough with pesto, drizzle a little olive oil on if you like, cover with mozzarella cheese. Top with your favorite things that go with garlic, from a sliced tomato to artichoke hearts., my faves.

Try your next gilled cheese sandwich with the bread skimmed with a little pesto.

Pesto used to go really fast back in the good old days when I had a real kitchen.
