Does anyone have experience with "Factor" meal delivery service? It's all heat-and-eat *

* rather than a box of ingredients like "Hello Fresh". I did try Hello Fresh and it was fun for a few deliveries... but I lost interest in the process.

The "Factor" meals look good (but menu photos ALWAYS look good) and the choices/variety catch my attention.

They have "testimonials" on their website, but they're clearly going to show ONLY the best testimonials. I think I'd feel better about giving them a try if I heard a review/comments from a trusted source.

After the introductory offer, the meals arrive at a 20% discount (plus shipping) and that's definitely overpriced.

I'm still undecided about trying it at all... but considering their regular prices, I definitely would't continue beyond the first trial box.

If you still have to cook it, wouldn't it be cheaper to just have the groceries you need delivered?

I'm waaay to picky of an eater to sign up for any of these.

* because, just like you, I'm picky when it comes to the colors/freshness/size of produce and fresh meats. --- I just cant trust that the in-store shopper would choose the same ones that I'd choose.

I've often wondered if they'll make substitutions if the exact item is sold out. Or will I just find out when the delivery arrives that they were sold out of the "extra soft" TP that I ordered, but didn't bother to substitute the "extra strong" variety instead. --- I guess with some conveniences there will always be an inconvenience to go along with it.

and I being the evil person/parent that I am, used them to "encourage" (force) the kids to cook. they got me back by one of them moving out soon after starting them. that messed with portion control and trading off cooking as I was getting whatever it was that gave me free shipping. we had Plated until they went under, some other one, then hello fresh for a while. Plated was much better, of course. that is probably why they went under.

she liked the food but has a short attention span and lost interest. she isn't much of a food person and doesn't really cook either. pricey but good flavors was her general view. also complained a little bit about everything being "soft" - not sure what that means other than "cooked" but I suspect her real issue was no dessert!
