What's for Dinner, Sat., Sept. 28, 2024

Appetizer: Club crackers with various toppings: red pepper hummus, tzatziki, Vidalia onion, black olives, grilled cherry tomatoes and green peppers.

Pasta with fresh tomatoes and anchovies. Cilligene, freshly ground black pepper.

Dessert: Hami melon with mint, lemon juice. Earl Grey tea.

5. Chicken pot pie

I did take the shortcuts of using a rotisserie chicken, frozen peas and carrots, and store-bought pie crust (I hate making pie crust). Plum crisp for dessert.

Was busy in the kitchen today, roasting red peppers, and chopping ripe tomatoes (I use them like canned in the winter) and green tomatoes - I thought I'd try making mincemeat with them.

Getting ready for football tomorrow but definitely having a bowl with rice and a dollop of sour cream on top tonight. Whole milk to manage the heat.

It smells so good!
