What's for Dinner, Fri., Nov. 15, 2024

What to do with all these end-of-season peppers. And to think, I raised them all from seed, starting in Feb of this year. Some are close to 5' tall. What you see in the picture? I have twice that in both tomatoes and peppers.

I decided on a recipe "Slow Cooker Pepper Pork." It has tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and pork loin strips, along with the green peppers.

Rice pilaf from last night should go well with it.

Pomegranate kombucha.

Dessert: Angel food cake slice and blackberries in Greek yogurt. Tea.

I’m meeting an old friend who is an opera and Broadway singer at a restaurant on Manhattan’s West Side.

Should be delicious!

Now me, I get to go to the plant nursery and buy onions and garlic for the gardeners to plant tomorrow. Neener neener neener. Not.

Mexican pasta dish.
It was ok.
I thought it would taste better than it did tho
Hearty but the pasta was not my fave and I toasted the hell out of it!

If anyone has a great Fideo recipe.
I would like to try it again.

The one I made used ground beef and potatoes

tikka masala paneer - lazy in that I'm using a jar of tikka masala sauce instead of making my own. With rice and roasted cauliflower

Homemade oven roasted cannellini bean falafel croquettes served over organic spring mix, chopped romaine, thinly sliced Napa cabbage, tomatoes and red onions. Homemade lemon tahini dressing to pull it all together. Toasted organic sprouted multigrain bread with Miyoko’s butter. Iced green tea with lemon.
Maple walnut tapioca pudding made with oat milk for dessert. Cheers! 🥂

These freeze OK, and, with the peppers can make a good chili verde

I used too much of my gardening space on Beefsteaks, which yield late.

They do turn red off the vine, though, and have been delicious.
