What's for Dinner, Sat., Feb. 14, 2026

The RG and I will be celebrating Valentine's Day on a day other than Saturday, so I'm making Chickpea Soup with Potatoes, Carrots & Kale.
Naan bread with melted provolone and roasted peppers to go with the soup.
I also started a big pot of chicken broth for chicken noodle soup, coming up early in the week.

Enough leftover from yesterday, which is ok with us. Also making air-fried sweet potato nuggets and steamed snap peas and carrots. Made an ice cream pie with a chocolate graham cracker crust filled with Wegman’s cherry chocolate chunk almond milk ice cream for dessert.
Happy Valentine’s Day!💙💙 Cheers!🥂

I grew up in a house of cooks where my brother and I were taught cooking and baking skills by both my parents from a very young age. It’s funny that my brother and I married gals who have very little interest in cooking. I enjoy being the main chef but I always seek her input. On the other hand I hate doing laundry and most housekeeping chores, so it’s a trade off, as most solid marriages are.
