Related: About this forumCan I use old paint and primer that have been stored in a very hot attic for years?
Or should I discard them? I need the paint for touch up so it won't cause any harm if it doesn't work, but I'm wondering if I should take the old primer to hazardous waste and buy new. The can says "do not freeze" but doesn't say how hot it should't get. Advice welcome. Thanks!

(64,357 posts)When I finish this current project I'm taking it all to the hazardous waste recycling center. No more paint and primer in the attic for me.
I'm glad to know that it is probably ok to use, though.

(64,357 posts)It was a little lumpy - I had to stir it a lot, but when I brushed it on the lumps dissipated. I painted it on trim and then painted over with semi-gloss and everything seems fine.
