Related: About this forumChristmas eve water leak
poor Mr. Ketchup spent time yesterday in the mud and snow replacing a cap on an abandoned water line under the house. We knew we had trouble when I noticed about a week ago that under the cabinet felt like a sauna.
We also had a leak in the sink drain, so we ended up pulling the sink, repairing the loose tiles, got a new faucet and did the repair and reset the sink.
ahhh.... the plumbing Christmas, what's not to love ??
We now have a back up cap for the danged pex stuff, we almost didn't get out of the driveway yesterday for the parts run due to the almost 10" of snow we got here in our desert home.
the joys of home ownership eh??

(49,314 posts)we can't get a plumber out on a weekend or at night, much less on a holiday!! but the ol' boy who owns the plumbing supply place is always happy to come down and open up the store if you need parts!!
we just had a Lowe's open here, so other than getting the truck out of the driveway parts were no problem yesterday luckily!
and Merry Christmas!!
