I bought two 4 packs of Emergen LED lightbulbs today.

what piqued my interest with these bulbs is they incorporate Lithium Ion batteries that provide 4 hours of lighting if you lose power. They look and operate as a typical lightbulb, except if you lose power, the battery kicks in. They also come with a holder that has a hook to hang, so they can be used if you are need lighting outdoors. Not cheap, but they will be handy in lamps that are not on my solar battery system back-up.

Depending on how many LEDs they have, the life of 3 AAA batteries can be pretty long. They leave your hands free and put the light where you need it.

The power was off for 4 days in fall 2020. Head lamps and a battery powered AM/FM/SW radio got me through.

I always have a couple of antique oil lamps around. There is no market for them now and you can get a nice one for a couple of bucks and a buck or two more if it has a finger hole handle. Just be really careful and not start a fire. I don't have any little ones and my cat is old and not very curious anymore.
