Related: About this forumwhat cherry/pear tomato will grow best in a hanging pot?
I have a south facing cement wall that gets good sun, and I want to hang several pots of little tomatoes to grow there. Does anyone have a suggestion for variety?
I love the golden pear tomatoes, and also that variety that I think is called sungold. It would be great to have a good yield.
Any suggestions, anyone? I plan to use good potting soil, and fertilize.

(18,219 posts)I suppose that you can try it, since it really is all about the location, microclimate where they are put, how much watering they get, and a number of other factors that will be unique to your area. So I always say it doesn't hurt to try anything. I admit I only tried this one year, but I didn't get many tomatoes from the plants and my plants always looked stressed.

(47,675 posts)I've grown Sungold and I wouldn't recommend it for a hanging pot - the stems aren't strong enough. It also won't drape as well as Sweet 100.
