flowers which change according to the availability of aluminum in the soil. Aluminum is more available in acid soil and in alkaline soil it is bound up to other elements. Rain usually has a slightly acid pH, about 6 where 7 is neutral. So after a bit of rain the aluminum in the soil is more available to the plant and the flowers turn more blue.
