(18,633 posts)A piece of sturdy bread toasted, cream cheese (I use Miyokos vegan), and figs or fig jam.
I have a fig tree that is *WAY* bigger than I expected it would be. In my front yard. Kind of embarassing, actually. However---I do love the bumper crop of figs I get every August! That's what keeps me from removing it. I made fig jam one year and we ate it with cheese on bread. I like the idea of regular old figs with cream cheese on toasted bread---I'm going to get some cream cheese...thanks for the idea.
Every August I think I eat my weight in figs

(18,633 posts)Regular soft bread, it had some oomph to it. Now I either toast a sturdy bread or sometimes get that German very heavy, very thin bread. Below is one option, the brand has several choices. I like they they come shrink wrapped and are happy hiding in the cupboard for a long time.

(567 posts)I can honestly say that I love them ripe fresh. Oh what a treat that was. I have bought dried figs but a ripe one fresh off the tree is amazing.
