(60,476 posts)tomorrow - and I will be sure to post pics of the slices!
I know - we lived in New Hampshire and PA in our past and gardened there and understand the whole waiting and watching thing!

(52,967 posts)100+ degree heat, they're not going to be setting anymore. I'm still getting up at 5AM to water my garden every day, but all the plants are wilted by nightfall. I still have a few cherry tomatoes on their vine and a couple of green Romas.
Botany
(72,398 posts).... by the 4th. I am growing Bradley for the first time and it is doing very well. Do you know
anything about it?
Cherokee Purple, Mortgage Lifter, Old German, Black Krim, Marglobe, and pink Brandywine are the
others I am growing this year.

(30,884 posts)We consider it a good tomato year if we harvest at least one tomato by July 1st. It looks like we should have one or two Taxis and several Sweet 100s by Friday.

(22,271 posts)I've not been real adventurous with tomato varieties, sticking with Sweet 100's, Celebrity, Romas & Better Boys. The Sweet 100's are going to be ripe first. The problem remains, will they actually make it into the house this year (don't 'cha just love garden grazing?).
I did have my first Guta (Armenian Cucumber) yesterday and I've been harvesting zuccini, yellow squash and peppers for the last month or so.
Congrats on your first tomato. It looks like a good 'un.
