(19,288 posts)Is that ever cool. I'm taken. Wow. We have no comparison in Idaho. Anything like it, is a hothouse variety.
And I thought my clamatis were looking good.

(18,219 posts)Go smell it and let us know if it stinks. I can't believe you haven't checked that out---it would have been my first thought.

(2,825 posts)They attract flies.
I "received some relatives of that , after Hurricane Fran blew in. But actually what I got, did not resemble this particular photo--what I had was small and orange and smelled like something dead.
I think NRaleighLiberal would have noticed by now.

(18,219 posts)by the adaptations that some plants and animals have evolved to succeed. The flowers that smell like something dead are so cool. Even if they are small and orange. I wonder what that is.

(2,825 posts)I have seen slimemold in a friend's yard--it looks like flattened egg yokes that move--only too slow for the naked eye to see. Friend told me that he read something new about it and that it has some kind of brain or something. I will have to look THAT ONE up!
Just looked up stink horns and I read that they attract a lot of flies that spread the spores! Also, they can smell like dog poo. Hard to get rid of. Hope NorthRaleighLiberal checks in soon!
