While you are out there gardening or just relaxing enjoying time outside, do not let those gnats, flies, mosquitos and even sand fleas bother you any more. Please check out the No Gnat Hat. Developed here in NC, it uses no repellents or screening to keep those bothersome insects away from your face, ears, and head. Please take a look. Would make a great Fathers' day gift.

Thank you very much and have a wonderful day.

(23,410 posts)You all may be familiar with Wishadoo! and the "Help a DUer" posts in GD.
I post them to my journal.
So, freemay20 working with Wishadoo this way is most awesome.

(37,743 posts)But I'm not getting how this thing actually works. Pendulums? There's something missing here.
I bought one of these for the season and must say, I'm pretty happy with it. It was only about 16 bucks or so:
I actually don't wear the hood over my face. It's my arms and torso I'm most interested in protecting, as the bugs don't seem to bother my face much. It's a little bit warm, but not so much as to make me not want to wear it. I like it so much better than having to put on mosquito repellent.
I didn't buy the pants, as I usually wear capris in the garden and that's enough protection.

(23,410 posts)I'd never seen anything like it before either -- had only seen the netting that is attached to hats and such before, which is really annoying and I can't use those.
It turns out Australians use a similar concept and have for years, but rather than the unobtrusive beaded pendulums freemay20 uses, they use wine corks! LOL. Still, it's the same premise and it's worked well for Aussies for decades, evidently.
You're lucky that bugs don't bother your face. It may be a southern thing...the whole gnats around the eyes thing.
Although I also know a few friends in Canada who have horrible bug issues in the summer and have ordered a couple of these hats.
Anyway, the No-Gnat Hat actually is quite effective for those who do have bugs-in-the-face issues.
