Used egg shells to protect newly transplanted lettuce from slugs. Now how do I get rid of the flies?

(18,219 posts)They will disappear as soon as there is nothing left on the shells.
And for next time, make sure to scrub the egg shells out really well before you use them. I always do this before putting them in the compost pile, since I was just attracting raccoons. I clean every bit of the soft material and there is nothing but hard shell. It attracts nothing.

(3,747 posts)put them on the ground. Let them cook in the oven 15 20 minutes on about 300 and all organisms will die and voila! no more flies. Mine fly infestation came with the rabbit poop that I got but ran out of time to disperse and damn we have flies! I'm off to buy fly paper today.
