Will my hosta come back?

Moved to new apt in Nov. last year and have one hosta outside living room window. Don't know how old it is. I did not plant it. I'm in northern Iowa so, it started coming up a bit late this year. The leaves/shoots were about 5" high when the idiot lawn people weed wacked it a few minutes ago. There's maybe half an inch still above ground. Do you think this will keep growing this season? It's the only plant I have by my window and I'm just devastated that they did that.

Thanks so much for any help!

My husband accidentally put black plastic over mine last year. It came up anyway through the cracks in the plastic! It's doing fine this year.

At least 40 years ago, my mom planted some extra hostas from our garden at her father's grave. It is still there, even with often being mowed by the cemetery staff.
