I'm Posting my New Gardening Hours

The purpose is to get work done out of direct sun. Also to beat the heat.

5:30-11 a.m. and 6-9 p.m.

A nap from 1-2 p.m.

I'm "getting in shape" with the new hours from now through mid-June, when they will fully take effect.

I may not garden all those hours, but they're open for me if I need them.

I have often heard that when squirrels go after tomatoes, they are really looking for a source of moisture. Sometimes putting out a dish of water will keep them away from the tomatoes.

It's plenty hot and bright by then.

I'm struck by how different older people look who've spend a lot of time in the sun with no sun block vs. more troglodytes types. By then it's too late, of course.
