I won't give suggestions because I kill every flower type plant I've ever had. Never fails!!

bought and planted her yesterday, and was surprised to see the open blooms this morning, as they were not open yesterday. Will see what tomorrow brings. Am hoping NOT to kill her. This is an experiment, as I haven't had the occasion to try (or fail!) in the past!

Does it smell good? I am annoyed that some roses (long stem red roses at florist) had the perfume bred right out of them.

Is there drainage in that pot, i.e. a hole in the bottom?

Austin's are not so good for fragrance, imho.

and gravel.

The fragrance is VERY mild, so I've just ordered THIS one: http://www.heirloomroses.com/roses/hybrid-tea-roses/velvet-fragrance.html

A friend's neighbor (no one residing there for a couple years; new tenants now) had the MOST wonderfully fragrant deep red rose, and seeing nothing comparable around here (just started looking recently,) I found this one and decided to order it.
