Iris blooming in Fall

I brought a bushel basket of iris roots from my old house and put them in the ground in December before the deep freeze. They did not bloom this spring but have been giving me a show in October.

They are a very pale blue.

I couldn't give them away so I tried to rehome them myself. Makes me think of the poster irisblue when they bloom.

I have amazing iris. I planted two kinds (no idea which) in a narrow edge of a swale, between the bottom of the swale and the neighbor's pseudo rock one foot high wall. Several times a summer the swale fills with water for an hour or so. They grow like gangbusters. I never do anything for them. I think this is an accidental occurrence of the perfect microclimate for them.
