When should I trim a hydrangea bush?

The flowers are a bit past their peak, and I don't know if I should trim them, and if I should, where.

You do this just past the bloom head.

Hydrangeas rarely need pruning other than to cut back dead stalks.

Do you have problems with it not blooming well?

and I really want to get my house painted this Spring. I want to focus on the front gardens when that is done.

but now have to wait for decent weather! Lots of old/dried 'flowers,' the bush is READY for a trim!

Hydrangeas bloom on second year growth, so if you trim it all down at once, you will lose the blooms for the current year.
