1. I'm hoping for slivered "penises"..... (grass you dirty minds!)

I raked and hoed and turned the soil on a 15 square foot patch of dead grass that my beloved girlie dog faithfully killed with her urine over the winter. I seeded it with this new fangled Scotts product specifically for grass killed by dog urine and then I raked nearly a 55 quart bag of potting soil over the area, watered the hell out of it and am hoping it takes. That I am doing this this early in Colorado is nearly unbelievable but the rest of the grass is starting to sprout and the neighbors keep shooting me nasty looks.

SO, yeah... grow me up some little slivered green "penises" pleas!

2. To hell with Scott's. Get the cheap "by the scoop" "filler mix" from your local garden center.

That stuff is mostly crap (not crab) grass and it fill in dead spots in a week. It's cheap, too. A half lunch bag runs about $1.25.

I am hoping to avoid any more large spots and I've taken to carrying a bottle of water with me when I take her out to dilute it immediately.

4. The commercial shit has a sub 20's germination rate. The garden store stuff is close to 100.

The commercial stuff costs $8/bag. The garden stuff costs a few cents per scoop. What to DO, what to do?
