Exciting that daughter, who lives near me, is starting first day as nursery school teacher

next week!

She'a been so busy I haven't been able to see her (or her kids, starting kindergarten and 4th grades in public school, August 27) when hoping to do so (and have them harvest figs on 'my' ficus.) She's been in her classroom 26 of the past 48 hours! (and spending my $ on school supplies!)

Now trying to recall my first day of school; I clearly remember HER (my daughter's) first day!!!

PHEW!

You all have lots of fun milestones coming up. I really admire nursery school teachers, who I think work the hardest but often seem to get less time off, fewer benefits, and sometimes less perceived respect than elementary school teachers (my field). Please give her my thanks — we need great teachers to prepare our youngest students for their lifelong learning journey.

and her brother is entering 4th grade in her new school same day (I think,) so the adults have to keep 3/4 calendars!

and thanks to YOU for your work! Couldn't make it without YOU all! She's gonna learn to READ!
