Cat food shortage?!?!

Anybody here experiencing trouble finding/getting Nurtrish dry cat food? I buy the senior healthy aging for my KittyBoy. Lucky for me he likes all the Nutrish dry varieties, I'm still getting nervous about shortages.

This is what I feed my little kid cat:

Blue Buffalo Tastefuls Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Adult Indoor Dry Cat Food

Premium food.

Fed it to my beloved, late Trixie & she lived to 16 in perfect health.

I recently tried Temptations chicken treats. Omg - they must put kitty crack in those things! He was biting at my fingers. Lol

So then I found that they make dry cat food. I was going to get him some, but decided to look up whether it's healthy. Sadly, it's not. Filled with grains that cats absolutely do not need. Darn it!

Good luck with your kitty food hunt!

I've had to do it.

And they even send you a donation letter for your taxes if you choose to take it to a local shelter.

Good luck!

so I bought him a big bag of bison food and another of salmon. He wouldn't touch either one. They were almost $80 each for large bags, and Chewy was nice enough to refund both.

Good luck!

My beloved rescue kitty departed the mortal coil 2 yrs ago. Following her death, an autoship notice appeared in my email so I called to cancel her food & litter.

This was right after the hurricane swept through & devastated so much of W NC & I'd seen news of Brother Wolf Animal Shelter being in dire need.

So when I called to cancel kit supplies, I told the nice woman that I know Chewy sends flowers when a customer's pet passes & asked if they could pls send $ to Brother Wolf instead. I told her flowers are lovely, but I don't need flowers. Those animals need food, toys, litter, etc.

So they did. They sent $100 in kit toys, food, a large crate that would, no doubt, easily house a mama kit & her litter, & kitty treats, then sent me an email for taxes because apparently rerouting the funds for flowers was a donation.

That company is amazing! And it's owned by Petsmart. Go figure. Lol

It usually goes out of stock in the spring, which is always a puzzle to me. (Don’t rabbits breed like rabbits? ) This year is no different. I just have to buy it while it’s available.

For occasional “cookies,” we give Fromm Indoor kibble. It has never gone out of stock for us.

Still, with all the shit that’s going on, I do get nervous.

Our 7-year-old Abyssinian was dying from inflammatory bowel disease. The prescription food and medicine only made him sicker, until his vet wrote him off completely and said he would be dead within a week. He was down to 5 pounds (normally 9.5) and wouldn’t eat… or whatever he ate came out both ends.

We had nothing to lose, so I fired the vet, researched raw food and found a good source, and hired a vet who was friendly to raw feeding. We took him off everything else, including the meds, and fed only raw rabbit. He was already improving within a week and lived another 10 years. We get it finely ground, which includes organs and bones (you can get it with fur). It is pricey.

Rabbits are natural prey for cats. If you have ever had or seen outdoor cats, their diet includes rabbits, birds, moles, voles, mice, rats, etc.

to experience for you and your kitty . I'm glad he recovered so well . Lol I guess my cat doesn't know bunnies are on the menu, we had two living on our property all last spring and summer. He does take of the mice and voles. Puppy Gurl takes care of the moles in the front of the property. Thank you for the info

And it caused cat food wars here when I was told I would kill my cats and everyone in the household by handling raw meat. Fortunately, my current vet is on board.

Lol I think your cats would figure it out. 😂 My new kittens think it’s candy! 😋

MSG me is you want sourcing info.
