Feeding the neighbors cats and chickens

This is the first time I've met their kitties or seen the chickens. I've taken care of dogs, cats and chickens pretty often the last few years, but it's been awhile since I met a new kitty. The one kitty made friends with me last night when I went over to check the routines. I went over today to check on them, just stayed a short time. The one kitty is still shy, but the one that made friends last night sniffed me all over, jumped into my lap, curled up and let me pet him all over. I have a cat, but she is not a lap cat, and does not like getting petted. I'm committed to letting her be an only cat till she passes on to her 10th life, but boy, the neighbor's kitty really made me look forward to getting another cat someday.

I've been thinking back and forth about just continuing to support the local shelter and a feral cat group or getting another kitty. Now leaning toward a pet
