Pic of Scooter & her babies

I think I underestimated their age but keep in mind that Scooter is a small cat. Anyway, I thought I'd share a quick pic. Scooter is very comfortable bringing them to my yard. This pic is right outside of the porch. I will do my best to get a picture of the kitten I mentioned in the previous post. They are stunning kittens. The gray one has a white bib and mittens.

I wonder if there are live traps that have a sensitive enough closing mechanism that it can be triggered by a kitten.

2. For the most part they do seem very healthy. They certainly have great appetites

I'm wondering if the fur loss is due to ring worm. The skin doesn't look red or inflamed and I haven't seen it on any of the others. I seem to recall Mittens the Kitten once having a missing patch of fur that grew back just fine.

The eye is my main concern but it does look a little better than just a few days ago.

4. I suspect Bruiser has some Siamese in him

These kittens are minis of him. At one point I thought he had cataracts but his eyes are absolutely the lightest ice blue I've ever seen.

13. Bruiser lacks that Siamese Cat build but he definitely carries the genes

He is built like a bulldozer.

Bruiser disappears for weeks at a time and then all of a sudden, he's back. I saw him VERY briefly a couple of weeks ago. I am sure this is his territory so if I can get him neutered, it will make a huge dent in the population explosion.

9. Isn't Bruiser the likely father of Scooter, too?

If so, then these kittens would have an extra dose of Bruiser's genes.

Trying to keep track of the feral genealogy.

7. Yup. She's the last survivor of the first litter of kittens I saw.

I realized today that they are living underneath the neighbor's deck. From my vantage point, that deck looks like a disaster waiting to happen. They never use it. If they want to get rid of the ferals they should just try doing some maintenance on that deck.

8. If you can get an outdoor shelter

made for them, like we discussed yesterday, it would get them out from under the deck. Maybe that's why the kittens develop eye infections. The deck might have bacteria, fungi, or viruses.

So Scooter must be a sister or half sister of Madoc?

15. It would be a complicated one.

Bruiser might be the father of all the litters, which means that he would be father to both Scooter and her kittens.

His name would be all over the tree, with arrows in all directions. But there might also be other males in the mix.

Only the female descent could be recorded with any certainty.
