Related: About this forumI think I'll light the white candles early, this Samhain, because the cats are going CRAZY
All morning they've been doing major zoomies around the house. And Arthur keeps asking for snuggles. Right now Gryff and Carys are no where to be seen. Gryff doesn't usually hide.
And for NO reason - totally out of the blue - my anxiety kicked in. Makes me wonder what spirits, human and/or feline, might be crossing that veil, tonight.
I had my day all planned. First, clean the garage so I can pull the car in - that's done. Then find Carys' hiding place. I'll add Gryff to the list. And then play with the kitcats until it's time to go dark (not handing out candy due to previous year's lack of trick or treaters). I'm adding an option to just hide.
What ever scary movies I watch, tonight, will NOT include any wild cat behavior. I'm getting enough of that, already.

(24,034 posts)My dogs are going nuts. The older dog was up and down all night barking at the dark. The pup wandered around with squeaky toys all night long I would take one away and she would find one stashed in a secret place. The older one was just barking at the window. Theres nothing there.

everyday my cat gets excited about something out in the backyard, particularly at night. She sometimes sees other cats. Those really excite her. Other times its deer or raccoons and occasionally a possum.

(24,430 posts)because Samhain can be a risky night for black felines.
When I had my black cat, Merlin, who was an indoor cat but a great escape artist, I made sure that he was securely indoors on Halloween. It's not only a night for things that cross the veil between worlds, but also a night for cruel and crazy people.
