I heard some beautiful meows from Carys, this morning.

She was sniffing at my feet and getting underfoot the entire time I was filling their food bowls.

Just like with the boys, she's not very fond of kitten food so every morning the bowls are a like buffet, with all four fur babies moving from one to the other. I'm going to try some 'complete' wet food and see if she will stick to her bowl.

And she's leaving her 'safe zone' beneath the kitchen table more and more often, and for longer periods of time. I'm waiting for the first time she joins me and the boys in the den. Maybe I'll utilize a whiffle ball to try to lure her.

All in all, a MUCH better start to the day than yesterday's.

So glad she's getting more comfortable with the routines and being around you. She's seeing that, even though her siblings disappeared shortly after going into the house, you - the lady who fed her when she was outside, has not eaten her and there are other cats inside who are happy and have it pretty good. .. maybe it's safe here after all.

Mikey is giving me that look like he heard his other mom and I planning for him to go back out to the wilder world at her place. He's been super cuddly and stops being bad right away rather than keeping on being a jerk until I get up and get within inches of him before he stops - usually related to going outside during curfew. I think he misses them, her and the dog, but not being prey to many animals in the woods up the hill behind the house. Long story but I have confidence he'll be better cared for there this time if I prescribe how he should be handled and which I have been doing since I brought him home. I have also created a portable "kitty cave" for him to have a shelter in the garage out there or on my porch when he's outside during the cold. He likes to go sleep in his outdoor cave when it's cold, he's a winter oriented cat. He had a cave in my garage at the old place, it's how I learned of his winter habits. His other mom never had indoor cats before so she's learning from what I explain to her. People don't know what they don't know, at least she's open to the info.

We also decided, yesterday, that Mikey has two homes and we are both okay with it. She likes that he gets spoiled at my place, she wants him to be happy. He's a lucky kitty.

Today I'm going on a whiffle ball hunt. There must be a dozen of them beneath furniture. I found the one behind the refrigerator.

Mikey has little furry mice and wine corks that he likes best. He can really bite hard into the cork and then bat it around. He also picks these items up and fling them around so they end up in weird places.
