Related: About this forumQuite the morning with these fur beasties
Got up, fed them, got dressed, fed the outdoor kids, and then got ready to head to Kroger.
As I walked towards the door I noticed SOMEONE had clawed through a bag of kitty litter I hadn't yet transferred to a plastic jug. It was ALL OVER the entry way. So, sweep, sweep, sweep to get up as much as possible and figured I'd vacuum the carpet when I got home.
Got home and now saw that they had tipped over the water dispenser and that water had mixed in with some of the remaining scattered litter. Great! Oh, and they also tipped over the new cat perch/scratching post. And of course, every furry face is transmitting the message 'It wasn't me!!!!'
I tidied things up, refilled the water dispenser, put away groceries and the put on pajamas. At least for now. I refrained from spiking my coffee with Kahlua.

(35,774 posts)would not be happy at all. In the early 2000s I had two rambunctious kitten siblings. I have a cupboard in my dining room that is tall and narrow. I had left the house to do errands and when I came back that cupboard had been tipped over and I was sure I would find an injured or deceased cat. Thankfully I did not. The siblings were hiding out somewhere. My elderly cat sleeping somewhere else. I was so frightened I would find a dead cat. Needless to say we attached that cupboard to the wall after that experience.

(92,779 posts)It's a full moon.
Kitties always seem so mischievous around the full moon, and this one has an eclipse early tomorrow so be prepared for kitty antics all week!
I went to a friend's to make a couple apple pies yesterday afternoon around 2pm. It was sunny, a little breezy and +50F! When I left, after pies were long cooled and several Rummy and dice games were played, around 7pm, it was in the low 20s windy and starting to snow. In the teens now, windy and snowing and Mikey is getting anxious to go out. He's staying in, he has a litter box and three windows to look outside.
In a while I'll let him see why he's staying in. I don't want him going into the storm drain out at the street, seems to be his main interest of late and it's really not safe. He used to rule "the tunnels" at the old place and this is just so different. At the old place there was an irrigation ditch network, some underground, that ran through the property and it was a great place to stay out of the weather. There was never any water in it except during the summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I don't want him finding out the hard way that this is not the same. His rivals from the nearby duplex also compete for this space. It's helping to get ready to send to his alternate home for the season. We're expecting a considerable amount of snow during the next few days so I hope a big snowbank will cover the drain for a while.
He will still be needing more indoor space that I don't have so going to the bigger house will be best.
