Related: About this forumWe had a little grey visitor in the den, last night. And it wasn't an alien.
Carys ventured on to the couch and decided to take a stroll across the lap top key board WHILE I was using it. That earned her a quick snuggle.
She settled down on the back of the couch for quite a while. So, progress!!!

(92,779 posts)That IS progress! She is showing signs of acceptance and letting you know she likes the attention you give her! That's big. All the other kitties in the house makes it a lot easier to convince her that she's in a good place.
I took Mikey to his other home yesterday, it's about 80 miles away. He's a good passenger for having only been in a car that long two other times and that was all in the last 18 months. He knew where he was as soon as we got there and seemed okay with it, it is his actual human's home and he's about nine now so he knows her well. I had to leave soon after arrival because we had to leave later than planned, Mikey decided to run off and NOT come when summoned, which not like him. He could tell something was up and he was already mad at me so I had a couple hours of anxiety about that until I caught him. I had everything ready to go so that when I scooped him up I could put him in the car and go. Once on the road, I had the back of the 4Runner all set up with his litter box, some water and his kitty cave, he spent the first twenty minutes looking out of the kitty cave then he came and lay across the console and half my lap, stayed there the rest of the way. I shed a couple tears as I left but I know he's safer there during the winter, there's nothing for him to do here and it's a small place. Out at the other place he has a lot to do, plenty of room and a dog to harass.
Carys is going to come around and end up being one of the most lovey babies, I'd bet a dollar on that!
