My cat doesn't purr very often and when she does it is so quiet that I sometimes miss it. There is no way that she would spend any time in my lap, but she does enjoy her belly rubs.

And since she's had such a journey getting at all comfortable with me, I think it would be cruel to expect her to do this all over, again.

So she's likely now a part of the family. An unexpected one but things happen for a reason.

...of my business. Hugs to you and to Carys.

I am always guilty of anthropomorphic thinking, and whenever I watch fostering stories that show an animal that used to be afraid of people come to develop trust with their foster family and then get adopted, I always wonder if the animals feel like they've been rejected by the foster family.

Three cats seems to big the big jump. After that, it's like, "Hey, what's one more?" We have had as many as 5, and it was no big deal. We now have just 2, and it doesn't feel like enough.

As soon as I say 'Are you hungry?? Let's GO!' she races to the kitchen.

She's also developed the habit of either pawing at or licking my feet while I fill the bowls.

And now she's starting to spend time in the den, which is my favorite room in the house. MUCH better than when she constantly hid beneath the kitchen table.

She might never be a lap cat but as long as she's comfortable, I'm happy.
