Gryff insists on using Carys' favorite nesting spot. I guess this proves my decision to weigh down the base of this cat tree is working out just fine. Even so, it is leaning a bit.

(12,881 posts)Over the years I've replaced posts twice because the cats removed all the rope, and replaced that spoon bed once because it was worn down to a hole. Our current cat brought it down when he was overweight and sitting in the spoon bed and hasn't gone near it since.

(92,704 posts)Maybe he objects to so many rapid additions to the household so he's "reclaiming" that space she's made hers, sort of. He might feel a little "odd one out" being the only one who didn't come from the back yard.
I expect that things will calm down over the next few weeks as they all figure the pecking order.

(3,804 posts)My cats will try to get into a shoe box, that's 11" by 6 ". Civet, weighs, 22 lbs and Maybelline, weighs 24 lbs. They hang out there till they have somewhere else to to be, or one of the sides of the box rips and they fall out.
