Related: About this forumIn bed with a dunk pup , I love sleeping with the furry boys.
Especially when you roll over in bed and get stabbed by a bone that has been buried into the blankets.

My puppy woke me up in the morning, standing on my chest and licking my face to wake me up. True love (or she was hungry as hell), but still beautiful!

(7,715 posts)I remember several years later when my dad was taken to the ER, and I came home from the hospital several hours later. She looked at me with sad eyes and then started kissing (licking) my face.
Dogs are far too good for us humans. The world is a much better place with our pups.

(2,997 posts)...I do not care. Our dogs make our lives so much richer and sweeter. I'm glad they sleep with us, I just wish they'd leave us a little room.

(12,952 posts)Who thinks pets shouldn't sleep with you has never slept with a beloved fur child.

(13,546 posts)We set up our stuff at Sunfish Pond and about 1/2 hour later, there is noise across the pond as some guys packed up, having the same idea.
It was late October and cold. They called to us, come over for some beer and weed. O.K. We ain't gonna turn down some smoke but we had our own beer.
(Don't worry. I'm getting to the point.)
The evening went fine until we were partied out. Fire extinguished, food secured from bears and off we go to snoresvil---
Wait.
An argument breaks out between our hosts: Whose sleeping bag the dog is gonna sleep in.
"He's my dog. In my bag."
"Yeah? Well who do you think carried him, 500 ft and 3 miles up the trail?"
Now they were brothers so the argument wasn't gonna get too out of hand.
And no. I don't recall whose bag the dog got in.
I think there was a band, named about dogs and cold winter nights.

(1,979 posts)I lost the 33-year partner/husband/love of my life in September. I take solace in my four dogs and 2 cats. They are never to be discounted as grief therapists. All best, Yankeepants

(71,942 posts)but i have 2 big dogs, and she was incensed that i put her in a crate to sleep.
had her for a month now, and she only very rarely pees in the bed. and that's only if i leave her up there while i do something else. she gets upset to be left behind and cant quite negotiate getting up and down yet.
i rly needed a puppy, tho. i grab her and snuggle up at lights out. she usually snoozes in my arms for a bit, then wiggles off to be closer to the big boys. i love sleeping in a dog sandwich.

(3,632 posts)recently? I saw her baby pics you posted when you went to get her, don't think I've seen any since.
Nuthin better than sleeping with fur babies. When I was a child I had awful night terrors around age 5-6. My dad got me a pupper, and after she was potty trained and could sleep in my bed, the nightmares and terrors mostly disappeared. Pets have definite positive effects on our mental and physical health.
