Related: About this forumI'm happy to report that there are 4 ferals at the food bowls, this Christmas morning
BIG improvement over just 1, Scooter, for the past two days. There are 3 more regulars, including Skittish, that I haven't seen. I hope they are OK.
I brought the frozen pate/kibble mix in to the garage to thaw, on Friday, and that's what I piled into the bowls. I'll go out later and put out some kibble because I'm sure they are so hungry.
The weather is twice as 'warm' as it was yesterday morning with a wind chill of 6 instead of -12. And it only gets warmer. Friday shows a forecast high of 51!

(92,451 posts)And it gets warm quickly. We're looking at mid-high 40s all week with rain later today. It went from -3F to +27F in a half hour - and that was after sunset and kept getting warmer. I was up for a while around 1am and it was+45F. Still that warm but very windy.

(29,388 posts)call Joe. I feed him twice a day. He will allow me to pat his head when he is feeding, but even then he is very skittish. I haven't seen Joe since this bitter cold moved in last Thursday. Last night right about dark there he was at the back door wanting fed. I tried to get him to come inside the garage with Rudy, but he wouldn't have no part of that. I been worried that he was froze to death, but somehow he is surviving this awful weather.

(106 posts)A momma, and 4 of her older kittens. They work the yards of 4 houses and are fed at each. They spend most nights on our porch under our glider. On the coldest mornings the stay under my screen printing shed.

(705 posts)So fed the un-homed cat wet food three times a day (usually only fed wet twice a day). He holed up somewhere all day Thursday, not sure where. But he was back Friday morning and continues to show up. Will keep feeding him extra wet thru this cold snap. I'm hoping he goes into the tote I set up but as of yet, no dice.
He's only ever hissed at me but doesn't run near as far away when I bring his food out.
