Just got home from the vet with Arthur

Saturday night I noticed he kept licking his bottom. When I picked him up I could see his rectum was red and swollen. So complete panic set in. Other than he is acting his usual self.

The veg game us some antibiotics and a topical anti worm medication. It goes between his shoulder blades, just like a topical flea medication.

He didn't see too concerned but said if I see any worsening, bring him right in. They might have to do a minor surgery to retract the tissue. And, of course, do other tests to make sure it is nothing catastrophic. I'm having hard flash backs to Morgan and my worry meter is about to hit crisis mode. I meet my new primary care provider, tomorrow. She's in for a treat.

So the rest of the day will be dedicated to snuggling with the cats. I'm pretty exhausted from hosting back to back holiday meals, anyway. And not sleeping because of worry about Arthur has drained me.

Of course I will keep people posted.

It would be best if you had a good sleep for the kiddos. I feel confident Arthur will make it through this current ailment. He is hearty and healthy with a loving family and mom. Mom needs rest from a busy holiday and the stress of worry. Make today a rest and recuperation day while Arthur begins to heal.

Be safe and well, Siswan, and the same to Arthur and the family!

like grip on scruff. You can cover your hand with a baggy, exam glove, but the canine paper towel doesn't work well on small kitty butt. Have bleach cleaner ready for sink area. Place thumb and finger either side of anus, press down and squeeze together. You can feel, besides see, if the expression has been successful. You need a vet tech for a bosom buddy!!!!
