Arthur has finished with his antibiotics and he's back to having a pink butt hole.

Pink with no swelling, which is such a relief. I will continue to keep an eye on 'things'.

No final diagnosis on what caused it to happen but I trust this vet, completely, and no doubt he's seen it many times before. He did a good exam and there was no belly swelling or pain and I'd seen no blood in the litter box or odd behaviors so he just said to keep an eye on things and if it didn't start to resolve with the antibiotics, or grew worse, to bring him right back in and they'd do an x-ray. He also said sometimes they need a surgical correction to withdraw the tissue. I'm glad that wasn't necessary.

Anyway, I noticed improvement within 2 days and it just continued to get better.

As always, thanks for the emotional support!!

It's always hard when they have some ailment.

It's good that he has healed up.

Those kitties are really lucky to have you as their caring humanslave.

All 4 were lined up next to me, this morning. They were hungry. They have no snooze button.

Since I had the multi-cat experience! I can imagine that would be quite the lineup to wake up to!

Mikey will be back for a short visit in the coming weeks as his mom will be having surgery and there isn't anyone to stay at her house. The neighbors will tend the horse and the dog will go to doggie hotel for a week. I'll be glad to have my snuggle buddy back for a little while. I hope it will be really cold while he's here so he'll want to stay indoors. I can usually keep him in for about a week before he starts demanding to go out.

Then he'll go back out to the country with his original human again. I just hope she has a successful surgery. I suspect I might have Mikey for a couple weeks rather than just one.

Gryff had to settle for the back of the recliner because the other 3 took up all of my lap.

I noticed she will follow me around the house, now. She's still very choosy about when she will let me pet her or pick her up, but that's OK. We're MILES ahead of where we were, just a few weeks ago.

Glad you have your buddy for a while!

Is having such an easy time because of all the others helping her understand what happened when she came inside. I think you and those kitties will have a long an happy existence together.

Mikey isn't here yet but soon. It will be at least a week or two from now. I have to reconfigure my tiny hovel again to make sure he has enough space. I have since bought an electric piano and some recording electronics, I keep them all covered when not in use, but I have to make sure he doesn't find any of it interesting.

But I did buy a new vacuum cleaner yesterday, my old one is from 1987 and the attachments are disintegrating and I can't get bags for it anymore. While I was at the hardware store where I used to buy bags I saw that there was a newer model of my '87 unit for about $80 so I bought it. I'm sure I'll be able to get bags for this one for some time. I don't like the bagless kind, they stink after a few uses and I don't like that.

feed them. She pushes her face into mine, rubs my face with hers and bumps her head against me. The other two just wait patiently.
