Poodle cat... heavy sigh....

Monty got into another fight. He was acting very skittish a couple of weeks ago. We picked him up and figured it out pretty quickly and took him to the vet as soon as we could. He's better now, but it's going to take a while to get this funky new hair cut to grow back out. He had a large bite wound on his tail. He wrestles with his brother from the same litter all the time, but they're getting older now and it's getting a little more serious. I don't think it was his brother that did this to him though. It might have been Cujo or one of the other strays in the area.

Licking his chops after eating. He's such a dirty cat! He came in with half a mustache made of dirt the other day.

He was very aware of it before it healed, but it wasn't shaved yet. iscooterliberally Jan 2023 #2
It's so weird to realize that's how skinny their tails really are under all the fur. ShazzieB Jan 2023 #3

It was a gaping wound on the underside of his tail. We didn't even notice it at first. He was behaving strangely and hissed at my wife. He's her favorite cat. Our vet cleaned him up and gave him an antibiotic shot and now the wound is all healed. It's not cold where we are. We're just north of Fort Lauderdale so if it gets a little chilly he just hangs out inside. I think he's mostly over it now. I checked it out this morning and he didn't complain.

It is pretty funny. I've had a lot of pets over the years and they have ended up with some pretty strange hair cuts at times. This one takes the cake though!

He had a hard time when we moved to this house about 3 years ago. He even disappeared for almost two weeks. He finally showed back up all disheveled and skinny. He usually stays on our block now. One of the vet techs joked that Monty helps them keep the lights on at their clinic. I told my wife that were it not for pets, kids and automobiles we might be wealthy. I'm more into the wealth of experiences though and with Monty and his siblings it's never a dull moment around here.
