Related: About this forumCarys took snuggles to a whole new level, this morning.
She hopped up on the bed so I held her and gave her some kisses and scritches. She stayed for a few minutes and then, as usual, she headed to the edge of the bed. Then she suddenly turned around and RAN back to me. That was followed by nuzzles, head butts and kisses. Then she draped herself over my shoulder and snuggled against my neck and rubbed her head against my face. Her purrs were absolutely resonating. Arthur and Gryff were looking at her like, 'Hey! That's our job!!'
For the most part she still keeps her distance during the day, if I'm not sitting down, but at bedtime and early morning she's the sweetest, most affectionate little girl. And sometimes I get the feeling that she isn't running away as much as she's wanting me to chase her and play. That's when I deploy the whiffle balls. She LOVES to chase whiffle balls and leaves Gryff in her wake.
Even though it was never the plan, I'm so glad that she ended up staying with me and the boys.

(27,299 posts)Now, when I bring out the treat jar, she sits within an arm's length of me instead of across the room. If I toss a treat to her, she POUNCES on it so that the boys can't steal it. I used to have to toss distraction treats so that the boys would leave her alone. Now she sometimes just lets me just give her a treat.
And it's so funny that no matter where she is, as soon as I say the words 'Are you hungry?' she comes racing up to me and lets me pick her up and bring her into the kitchen.

(24,430 posts)while I'm lying down, but during the day she does not go in much for snuggles. If I bend down to pick her up, she runs off.
But whenever I am seated at my desk, she hops up on it and rubs her face against mine nonstop, head butts me, and waits for kisses on the head and continuous petting. If she doesn't get it, she puts a paw on my hand and stares into my eyes up close as if to ask, "Hey, what's the hold up? I'm here to be petted."

(7,231 posts)One of ours, who we've had for over 2 years, recently discovered bed snuggles. He snuggles on the couch all the time but he recently started snuggling in bed when we go to bed. Of course he must have his head on my pillow so I have to scoot over to make room, & then he plops down & snuggles against my shoulder & the side of my face. It's really sweet but he purrs very enthusiastically & if he purrs in my ear it's loud!
