Related: About this forumLush and one of Skittish's older offspring
There are two striped tabbies that look exactly like Skittish. Lately I've just seen this one. Not sure of the gender but this cutie also sits by the back door, waiting for me to bring out their food. I got in a VERY quick touch, this morning, but Stripes, here, thought the touch came from Scooter and gave her a smack on the nose!! I apologized to Scooter for getting her into trouble.
I'll definitely take a new photo of Scooter. Her Winter coat is absolutely spectacular.

(92,451 posts)Lush looks too clean and unmatted for a feral with that much fur. Just a thought.
Pretty kitties. It's interesting how they come and go.

(120,599 posts)Not that we love them any less. Lately it's been warmish (above freezing sometimes) during the day, which means Mr. Cat has been away from the porch most of the time, doing whatever it is that cats do when they aren't sleeping, but he still turns up for breakfast. One day I found Mr. Cat resting on the chair while an opossum gobbled up his leftovers not two feet away. Mr. C. didn't seem to care. Maybe they are friends.

Hopefully I can win some trust.

(24,255 posts)the only breeds that I know of who have a ruff like Lush has. Genetically, the NFC is an ancestor of the Maine Coon.
Could be that Lush belongs to someone as an indoor/outdoor cat and hangs out with the ferals for socializing and catting around.
Or, it might have got loose from a car and became lost. Hard to believe that someone would abandon such a beautiful cat, especially if it is a pedigree. The coat looks clean and smooth, like it's being cared for.
"Wegies" (pronounced weegee) are friendly and like being with people as well as animals. So if it is not feral, or only recently became feral, it might develop a friendly attitude toward you, especially because you give out food and the ferals are ok with you.
