It's snowing so hard that I brought the feral's food bowls inside so they won't get buried

Not a kitcat in sight. I put a big bowl of food in the shelter. Fortunately it isn't going to go below freezing so all the ferals will have to deal with is deep snow. It's supposed to end by 4am so I'll go out at first light with extra food in the bowls.

Once a week this weather is trying to kill us for a day or so, then it goes to 50 and smirks at us. Srkdqltr Mar 2023 #3

This is day 3 of violent storms. Shingles ripped off roof overnight & yard flooded. Power was out for a short time this morning, but compared to what some folks in CA & elsewhere are experiencing, I'm not complaining.

Stay warm & safe!

for several days we have had only some occasional heavy flurries that briefly made visibility difficult. It amounts to only a dusting and then melts in a few hours.

It looks like the West and upper Midwest are getting hammered badly while we are escaping these storms. Strange weather pattern.

We often get a heavy snowfall here around mid March, so we could be next. But so far, our winter has been mild except for the horrendous Christmas blizzard.

4 days of no rain forecast here. Hoping I can get new roof put on quickly!

Not looking forward to the intense heat & humidity of spring & summer here. We've already had a few days near 80F. 😓

We had 57° a couple days ago and it felt like spring.

About 7 or 8 years ago, we had a strange warm spell at the end of February and beginning of March. The temperature was in the 80s for about a week and went down gradually to 70s, 50s, and then 30s with snow. Trees and flowers were budding. They died when it turned cold again. Young saplings died completely, but older trees survived.

One reason why I stay in the North, despite snowy, cold winters is that I can't take the heat and humidity of summers in warmer climates. I spent a summer once in SC and a week in FL in June and felt tired and "limp" the whole time.

I visited relatives in AZ near Phoenix in August one year and found the dry heat at 100° more tolerable than 85° in the South. But the AZ scenery felt so foreign - cactus, sand, and rocks. Everything was in shades of brown. I missed grass and flowers.

So I stay where I am and bundle up in winter. .
