Carys surprised me

She strolled up and meowed at me so I reached down to pick her up. And she let me! I carried her around for a bit and then put her back down. She ran right back to me and started rubbing up against my ankles.

What the heck. I knelt down and kind of 'compressed'. She started walking all around me, rubbing her head against my arms, head, face, legs. She started stretching out next to my hand and grabbing my fingers like she wanted to play. This went on for a good five minutes.

Not sure what triggered this. Hopefully it will happen more often!

Cat's are a puzzle, at times. So glad to hear she's become so sweet. Thanks for the update.

If she hasn't been neutered, she might be in heat. Female cats can get very friendly when they go into heat.

Scoop her up while she's friendly and try to find a TNR vet near you. It's the kindest thing you can do for a feral beastie.

She won't disappear, cats are very tied to their territories. She'll just go back to being a working cat, keeping rodents down.

She was still a little bit feral but the vet said she would be no problem for them to handle. Turns out she was an ideal patient.

I didn't know you were getting your ferals neutered, so good for you.

I guess this gal has seen your adoptees looking out the windows all fat, sleek, and sassy and has decided maybe she wants a human to call her own. You might be able to tame her down enough to be adopted.

It sounds like she's already grateful not to be having 4 litters a year (minimum), most of which will die from internal and external parasites.

That was my big challenge with the tough old Maine coon barn cats I rehabbed, getting rid of the bugs and worms. You've never lived until you've shoved pills into a 25 pound semi feral tomcat who realizes that flea collar was a good idea, but lady, there are limits!
