Related: About this forumThe kitcats weren't too happy about last night's thunderstorm
They hid under the bed.
This morning they all have the zoomies. Since there's more rain on the way, maybe it's the barometric pressure that is amping them up.
All of this rain makes me think it might be smart to get the mower ready.

(24,255 posts)during heavy rainstorms. She starts getting edgy and looking at the window before it actually rains, so there is something in the atmosphere that she senses.
A couple days ago we had heavy on and off rain, with about an hour of sunshine in between deluges. Ember was back and forth behind the couch and out in the middle of the room.
I started watching a movie that had a thunder and rain scene in it. When Ember heard the thunder and rain on the screen, she headed for the couch, but stopped to look at the window because things weren't adding up. The sun was streaming through the window. She looked at the TV screen and back at the window. Then she curled up on the floor in the sunshine.

during a thunderstorm usually goes under the bed or the couch. A few times she has gone under the dining room table, which is a heavy piece of furniture.
Yesterday we had high wind most of the day, then died down during the evening, then started up again around midnight. Never had much of a thunderstorm, just high wind. (East of us got the bad weather-am in KC). Normally that would bother her as well, but didnt seem too yesterday. Bothered me much more than her.

(35,711 posts)Poor Rosie couldn't get her morning walk because it was raining out and the basement was too wet for her. She's a little cranky now. My other two don't go out and they're both sleeping in on this gloomy day. So glad we missed out on all the severe weather.

(27,261 posts)I took a stroll around the yard at about 9 and it was misting. I think the heavier stuff is about to arrive.
It seemed a good idea for me to check the basement to make sure the sump pump is doing its job. Thankfully, it is. There's a flood warning on the west side of the county.

My calico Charlotte will look up, as if to say, "Oh, was that thunder?" then lay back down and sleep.
