I suppose it's too much to hope that Gryff will tire of playing fetch

And if I am too slow in tossing it, he gently pats my hand to remind me of my part in this game.

Sometimes I hide the floofy toy, just to give my arm a rest. He always finds it. I could do a better job of hiding it but it's interesting how much time and energy he spends searching.

Oh well. Maybe Carys will try to drown it again and I'll get a respite.

finding the floofy toy instead of fetch. Just keep hiding it.

Or, pretend your arm hurts and see if you get any sympathy from him.

If patting my hand doesn't work, he pats the toy and then looks in the direction he anticipates I'll toss it. Sometimes he catches me tossing it in the opposite direction.

Just now I 'faked' tossing it. I think he's caught on to that trick.

Honestly, he get so much enjoyment out of the chase and retrieval, and it does give him LOTS of exercise. I'll just have to limit the sessions.

especially crinkled up balls of aluminum foil. She never brought them all the way back to me. She would pick them up and walk around with them, usually in my direction, but she always dropped them just out of my reach. Maybe she wanted to give me some exercise.

Now she still runs after those balls and other toys when I toss them, but doesn't pick them up any more or push them around with her paw. She has narrowed her toys down to pipe cleaners, which she loves to catch between her paws, the laser light, bubbles from the child's bubble and wand toy, and a wand with feathers dangling from it. The feathers sort of resemble a bird in flight when I move the wand around. If I leave the wand on the floor, she moves the wand end of it as if trying to make the "bird" fly, or to make me notice that she wants to play.

Fetching and carrying balls and stuffed toys just doesn't appeal to her any more.

Carys loves those AND whiffle balls.

Arthur is more into motion activated toys. Well, that ALL love those. When I get back from Aldi I'm going to roll up the rug and give them plenty of room to chase them.

Otherwise you're going to have to start throwing with your other arm.
