I bought a new crockpot. As I stood at the kitchen counter pulling it out of the box, Ember hopped onto the section of counter where she's allowed (where no food prep is ever done) in order to satisfy feline curiosity about what I was doing. But when I tossed the empty box to the floor, I could see Ember's dilemma in her eyes. Should she continue to watch me pull off styrofoam packing to satisfy her feline curiosity? Or should she get down to the floor where she could explore the box?

She chose the box. Totally lost all interest in what I was doing at the counter. I turned to look at her when I heard her jump inside the box. Her head was just slightly above the open top. The picture on the side of the box was very visible, so it looked like she was being slow cooked.

(I left the box on the kitchen floor for her to let her play with it a few more days before getting rid of it.)
