I am impressed with Sian's ability to escape the den

Fortunately she comes running directly to me. Or to the kidcats food bowls. I turned around and found her eating some leftovers from one of the bowls, even though she had just finished her own kitten food! Wet AND dry.

She also finally realized that getting a 'cat bath' from one of the big kids is pretty nice. Before today she would launch herself at them, claws and teeth ready for action. Arthur convinced her that it's what cats do.

Anyway, here's a picture from today. This was a brief wakeful period between naps.

The first cat I had was Toby. He was an orange kitten, who showed up in the cold, and despite concerns and resistance, became a member of our family, and a comfort in difficult times.

I moved and had to give him up (it still breaks my heart) but I ended up adopted by a beuatiful and amazing Tuxedo we named Max. I can't explain how wonderful a cat he was - words don't suffice. But as the circle of life goes, we lost him, and we wre grief stricken.

Shortly after, a neighbors kid brought us two kittens in a baseball cap - that's how tiny they were. They lived with us for the next 16 years, and passed within a few months of each other.

I've been without cats for a few years now, and miss them dearly. I've been hoping to get adopted like I was over the last 40 years. Siswan, you are very fortunate. Sending you much love!

She was doing the whole Halloween Cat stance. Not particularly threatening when one weighs about a pound.

I kept an eye on her for at least a week but then I saw that both of her eyes were infected - the left one so bad that it was nearly swollen shut. So I grabbed her.

She's the 12th feral kitten I've taken in. Fortunately I found homes for most of them.
